Where can I take assessments?
ADHD/LD House Calls is based in Austin, Texas. For some concerns, assessments can be completed entirely over Telehealth in Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Utah.
How much does assessment cost?
The standard fee for a full evaluation, suitable to bring to a university or school for accommodations should a diagnosis be made, is $1750. If you are seeking evaluation for the purpose of diagnosis only, without the need for academic accommodations, the fee is $750.
How long will the assessment take?
The assessments can vary in terms of how long the complete battery takes, both by how long the examinee spends on some parts of the test and if the examinee need any breaks. Testing typically lasts between three and five hours.
How long does the feedback take?
Feedback takes about 30 minutes to one hour, and is delivered via a secure Telehealth service.
Can I watch my child be tested? Or can someone sit with me while I am tested?
No. The examinee must be in a distraction-free environment. No observers are allowed, and the testing cannot be interrupted unless there is a life-threatening emergency such as a fire in the house. The examinee will have the chance to take short breaks to use the restroom and for snacks. You are able to watch the session through any in-home surveillance system.
Can I pay in installments?
Austin ADHD/LD House Calls has a blanket policy requiring the payment of the fee prior to testing.
I booked a month in advance, but my child got sick! Can I reschedule?
We are happy to reschedule, with no charge, for medical illness with 24 hours notice! Testing when your child is sick may invalidate the results, and Dr. Parent doesn’t want to get sick, either. Please email or call if the examinee becomes ill. We will reschedule for free, and we will work to get the session rescheduled for as soon as possible.
I have two children I would like to have tested. Can you test them both?
We can book appointments for up to two consecutive days (typically Saturday and Sunday) to test two individuals. If you live outside of Austin, an additional charge may apply for Dr. Parent’s overnight stay in a hotel nearby. We cannot test more than one person at the same time.
Can you prescribe medication?
Prescriptions, if warranted, should be written by a family physician or psychiatrist.
Do you take insurance?
We do not take insurance, but we will provide you with a detailed invoice including billing codes that you may use to obtain partial reimbursement from your own insurance company.
Can you assess for other conditions?
Yes. Autism spectrum disorder is also available for testing, as are many other conditions. Please contact our office with any specific questions about other assessments.
